Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa up the Machame route with Amy Andrews, George Andrews, Eric Bowers, Cameron Martindell starting on 11 September 2007. Six day climb. All made it to the summit: 5,895m.
KILIMANJARO: We get back down from the summit around 10am. A warm lunch was enjoyed while a light rain turns to snow (gropple). A nap until 1pm when we are forced from our cozy tents to continue down the mountain to our last camp, Mweka Camp for dinner.
KILIMANJARO: The hike down turned out to be just the right activity for the afternoon. We were well rested after our nap and the sights along the Mweka trail were amazing. It did spirnkle on us for a moment, but only lightly. It was nice to get back down to green plants and warmer air.
