KILIMANJARO: Lobelia deckenii. I never heard a common name for it. I thought it might be related to the Pineapple, but only on the Division (Phylum) level, Magnoliophyta. Still, it was fun to see them along the way. Although, I suspect both plants use the popular Fibonacci Sequence to produce their patterns.
Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa up the Machame route with Amy Andrews, George Andrews, Eric Bowers, Cameron Martindell starting on 11 September 2007. Six day climb. All made it to the summit: 5,895m.
