A very distinct outcropping of stone, the slender finger of rock that makes Milestone Mountain guides us to the pass we will cross just to the left of the pinnacle. It is also the precise point where the Kern Ridge merges with the Great Western Divide.
Teri is exhausted as we reach 13,000 feet of elevation above sea level. We have to take our snowshoes off and climb the last stretch to Milestone Col.
